Responsibility – Some companies import hand-made teak furniture provided by ‘collectors’ that will outsource designs to individual craftsmen throughout a village. The sources of wood are often illegal and quality variances often dramatic. However, all of our teak wood is purchased through the Indonesian government agency, Perum Perhutani, who regulates the country’s sustainable forest resource program.

Quality Teak Wood – We use Indonesian plantation grown Grade A teak wood which means our wood has little or no knots with beautiful coloring and grain patterns. Our teak has been properly kiln-dried for low wood moisture content so that the milled parts will hold their shape over time without warping. Sometimes referred to as First European Quality, our teak wood contains high density levels of the natural oils and resins that make teak wood such an outstanding material for use in the construction of outdoor furniture.

Solid Construction – We use traditional time-tested methods such as machine made mortise and tenon joints secured by teak dowels. Premium grade exterior glue and weather resistant hardware are used to provide maximum durability and strength over the lifetime of our teak furniture. All surfaces are generously proportioned and finely sanded to a beautiful finish.
